ASSOCIATE SOFTWARE ENGINEER

This role will be employed under Qstrike Innovations Philippines – OPC., and will be reporting directly under the Software Development Manager. 

As an Associate Software Engineer, you will work closely with our experienced team members to contribute to the development, enhancement, and maintenance of our digital products. Your role will involve assisting in resolving operational issues, building development solutions, and providing support to our users, clients, and cross-functional teams.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills are essential as you will participate in various interactions, including daily stand-up meetings, capacity planning sessions, retrospectives, U.S. brand meetings, and similar gatherings.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in designing, developing, testing and implementing software solutions that meet project requirements and specifications.
  • Collaborate with other engineers and other team members to understand business and technical requirements.
  • Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including refinement, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following coding standards and best practices.
  • Contribute to code reviews, provide feedback on code quality, and make necessary improvements.
  • Troubleshoot and debug software issues, identifying root causes and implementing solutions under guidance.
  • Learn and apply new technologies, tools, and methodologies to enhance software development and software engineering processes.
  • Document technical specifications, procedures, and guidelines to ensure knowledge sharing and maintainability of software systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure deliverables are of high quality and align with project goals
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Deliver tasks on time with a focus on quality and performance.
  • Regularly update and manage tickets to reflect progress, status changes, and any blockers.
  • Communicate effectively and provide regular updates on progress, challenges, and potential risks in both verbal and written formats.
  • Proactively ask questions and seek guidance to ensure clear understanding of tasks and requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Strong programming skills in one or more programming languages and frameworks (e.g. Javascript, Php, Laravel, Vue, React, Tailwind, etc.).
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail.

This is on a hybrid or WFA ( “work from anywhere” ) work model. Moreover, the willingness to travel to Pampanga from time to time for strategic group collaborations or whenever necessary is a huge plus.
